FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (July 6, 2010) – The Leadership Broward Foundation, Inc. (LBF) today announced that Doug Blitzer, Director/Shareholder of South Florida Tribridge, Inc., was recently installed as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors for 2010-2011. Mr. Blitzer has been an active LBF board member since 2008, serving the past year as Incoming Chair and as a member of the Executive Committee. He succeeds Ginger Martin, president and CEO of American National Bank.

After relocating to south Florida in 2006 from west-central Florida, Mr. Blitzer immediately became involved with LBF’s Senior Executive Orientation (SEO) program. He furthered his involvement two years later by becoming SEO Class 07 Program Chair, while simultaneously becoming part of Leadership Broward Class XXVI. In addition to his LBF activities, he serves as a board member of the South Florida Manufacturers Association (SFMA), and recently served as a judge for the SFMA south Florida manufacturer of the year award. Doug is also actively involved with various area chambers of commerce and remains an active member of the YMCA.

LBF’s CEO, Terri Wallace Flannery, stated, “Thanks to the leadership of Ginger Martin, Doug takes the reigns of the organization at a very exciting time. Demand for our programs has steadily increased which allows us to educate more civic leaders and deploy them into the community to make use of their training and to address our county’s most critical civic issues. We look forward to Doug’s leadership as we continue to advance the mission of our organization.”

Professionally, Doug has more than 20 years of consulting and industry operations experience in technology strategy, project management and both packaged and custom software; he is currently responsible for all aspects of Tribridge’s South Florida practice. He resides in Parkland with his wife and two sons.

The Leadership Broward Foundation, Inc. offers five (5) core programs. Each program targets different groups of people ranging from youth to young adults, to established leaders and senior executive level individuals. LBF’s mission "to develop and inspire individuals to serve our community” helps stimulate leaders to work more effectively within their own spheres of interest and influence, leading to responsible and committed community trustees. The end result is a network of leaders dedicated to understanding and improving the quality of life in our region.
