Florida State alumnus Tony DiBenedetto of Tribridge to be honored with induction into 2014 College of Business Hall of Fame

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –Tony DiBenedetto, an innovative entrepreneur and servant leader whose commitment to giving back is making it possible for others to succeed, will be inducted into the Florida State University College of Business 2014 Hall of Fame on Thursday, April 24.  

A 1987 graduate of the college's management information systems program, DiBenedetto will join a prestigious group of 32 successful business leaders when he is recognized for his professional accomplishments and community contributions at the 12th Annual Hall of Fame Dinner and Ceremony held at the Florida State Turnbull Conference Center.

Since 2003, the college has honored alumni who embody the qualities that make the College of Business an exceptional place to learn and grow and who have excelled in their careers and made significant contributions to the college and their professions. Candidates are selected based on their record of exceptional professional and personal achievement.

Following graduation and a decade at Arthur Andersen, DiBenedetto co-founded Tribridge in 1998, a Tampa-based technology services firm specializing in business applications and cloud solutions. Since its days as a small startup, Tribridge has become one of the leading technology services providers in the nation. Inc. magazine placed the company No. 55 among the top 100 private businesses in the nation based on its creation of 225 jobs from 2012 to 2013. The same year, the firm ranked as the No. 3 job creator in Florida and the No. 3 job creator in the IT services category. It was named one of the best places to work in 2006 and 2010. In 2007, Tribridge was named the Microsoft Dynamics U.S. Partner of the Year. In 2013, the company became the only Microsoft partner to receive the prestigious Worldwide Microsoft Dynamics Partner of the Year award four times, marking back-to-back recognition as Microsoft's top global performer following the firm's win of the same award in 2012 and again in 2010 and 2008.

DiBenedetto is the recipient of several leadership awards. In 2012, Florida Trend magazine named him among the Promising Businesses/Leaders in Hillsborough County. In 2011, he was added to Gulf Coast Business Review's list of 50 Most Powerful People of the Gulf Coast. In 2009, Tampa Bay CEO Magazine named him Tampa Bay CEO of the Year and Florida Trend named him a Trendsetter in Technology in 2010 and in 2009. He also received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award® in Technology in 2009.

The Brooklyn, N.Y., native devotes much of his time to giving back. He co-founded the Tampa Bay Technology Forum (TBTF) and is the former executive director of the TBTF Foundation, which helps at-risk and disadvantaged children pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math through educational programs and scholarships. From 2001 to 2010, he conducted entrepreneurial boot camps for hundreds of aspiring business owners and continues to mentor students and established professionals. He serves on the Leadership Council of the Florida Holocaust Museum, is chair of the Board of Tampa Bay WaVE, a nonprofit supporting tech entrepreneurs, and is on the Executive Advisory Council of the Tapia School of Business at Saint Leo University. He also is on the Florida State's Department of Accounting's Professional Advisory Board.

He has been generous in his support of his alma mater, serving as a guest lecturer, hosting Tampa-area alumni events and hiring interns and graduates from the college. In 2013, Tribridge made an in-kind gift of Microsoft Academic Alliance software user licenses to benefit accounting students for one year.

In addition to DiBenedetto, two other College of Business alumni will be honored at the event:

  • Donald Harbaugh, president of HDD Holdings, LLC and chairman of the board of BX Solutions, Inc., who graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing in 1971.
  • Cinny Streich Murray, president of Chico's, who earned her bachelor's in marketing in 1980.
